Law Enforcement Intensifies Search for Suspect in Minnesota Lawmakers’ Shootings
Authorities continue to search for 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter, a person of interest in the tragic shootings of Minnesota lawmakers State Rep. Melissa Hortman and State Sen. John Hoffman and their spouses. Hortman was killed at her Brooklyn Park home early Saturday morning, and her husband Mark succumbed to injuries at a local hospital. Sen. Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were injured in a separate shooting at their Champlin home.
Boelter, described as 6-foot-1 and approximately 220 pounds with brown hair and eyes, was last seen wearing a light-colored cowboy hat and dark clothing in Minneapolis. He is considered armed and dangerous, prompting officials to warn the public against approaching him. The FBI is offering a $50,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Investigators are examining Boelter’s connection to the lawmakers, with indications that they may have crossed paths on public boards, raising questions about his motive. A list of potential targets was found in his vehicle, leading to the cancellation of protests related to specific political issues.
Authorities urge anyone with information on Boelter’s whereabouts to contact them immediately.
