Minnesota United Signs Darius Randell to First Team Contract
MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota United FC has officially signed forward Darius Randell to a First Team contract as a Homegrown player, extending through 2026 with options for 2027 and 2028. The 17-year-old, who made waves with MNUFC2, becomes the fourth Homegrown player in the club’s history.
Randell’s journey began at Boreal Football Club, progressed through the MNUFC Academy, and culminated in his time with MNUFC2. He has lauded his coaches and family for their support in achieving this milestone. “I am truly excited to continue to live out my dream,” said Randell.
The club emphasizes Randell’s potential as a role model for younger players. MNUFC Chief Soccer Officer Khaled El-Ahmad remarked on the staff’s role in preparing Randell for this significant step in his career.
Notably, Randell has already earned four short-term call-ups to the First Team and made history by becoming the youngest player to score in an MLS match for Minnesota United at just 17 years and 255 days old. With continued development, both the club and fans eagerly anticipate his future contributions at Allianz Field.
