Three drivers were injured in a four-vehicle crash on Minnesota Highway 23 between Priam and Willmar. The crash occurred when Sumani Malimu, 36, of Willmar, attempted to pass another vehicle and collided with two eastbound vehicles driven by Krystal Enevoldsen and Marlene Phillips. A fourth vehicle driven by Rebecca Gregoire also became involved in the accident. Fortunately, Gregoire did not sustain any injuries. All drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not a factor. The road conditions were dry when the accident happened. Emergency response teams, including the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office, Kandiyohi County Rescue Squad, Raymond Fire and Ambulance, and the Willmar Fire Department, assisted at the scene. The injured drivers were taken to CentraCare — Rice Memorial Hospital for treatment. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the crash.
