Minnesota feline sets new Guinness World Record for longest tail

ORONO, Maine – Mr. Pugsley Addams, a nearly two-year-old Maine Coon cat, has recently made headlines for having the world’s longest tail on a living domestic cat, measuring in at a whopping 18.5 inches. His owner, Amanda Cameron, submitted Pugsley’s tail for consideration to the Guinness World Records after receiving numerous comments about its length from friends, family, and even the veterinarian.

After a year of paperwork, witnesses, and a notary, Pugsley was officially crowned the record holder in March. The news quickly spread to media outlets like USA Today and People Magazine, making Pugsley a household name in the U.K., Pakistan, and Turkey.

The Cameron family, who also have three other beautiful Maine Coons named Dutchess, Winifred, and Gomez, are thrilled by Pugsley’s newfound fame. Described as mischievous, curious, and very smart, Pugsley enjoys lounging around the house and getting cuddles from his family members. The Camerons do not plan on getting any more cats at the moment, but they expect Pugsley’s tail to continue growing a centimeter or two as he reaches full maturity.
