Nick Pappas, a well-respected speech pathologist and beloved member of the community, passed away on April 6, 2025 at the age of 88. Born in Duluth, Minnesota, Nick had an impressive educational background, earning degrees from the University of Minnesota Duluth, University of Wisconsin, Madison, and Northwestern University. He spent his career in California before returning to Duluth to work at Northland Ear Nose and Throat.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, Nick was also passionate about music and performed with a singing group called The Escorts, with whom he toured and even sang alongside Sammy Davis, Jr. in Chicago. Nick is survived by his partner Barbara, her family, and his siblings, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Nick will be held at Twelve Holy Apostles Greek Orthodox Church, with donations to the Greek Church encouraged in lieu of flowers. The family expressed gratitude to the staff at The Shores, Ecumen, for their care. The arrangements are being handled by Dougherty Funeral Home.
