Louisiana woman Danette Colbert, who is linked to the death of reporter Adan Manzano, has faced allegations from multiple men accusing her of drugging and robbing them. The state’s top prosecutor said Colbert should not have been on probation at the time of Manzano’s death, as she is considered a habitual offender. Colbert was previously convicted in connection with a scheme targeting a man’s life savings, but no charges were filed related to the drugging allegation. The Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office is working to revoke Colbert’s probation sentence and impose a harsher one.
Colbert also faces charges in Nevada related to grand larceny and administering a drug to aid in felony, though the charges were dismissed after victims declined to testify. Alleged victims have come forward with similar fraud and theft allegations against Colbert in other cases.
