In boys’ basketball, Edina defeated Minnetonka 68-54 in a thrilling match-up. St. Louis Park also had a strong showing, taking down Wayzata 61-55. On the girls’ side, Holy Angels dominated over Benilde-St. Margaret’s with a final score of 72-45.
In hockey, the girls’ state tournament quarterfinals began with exciting games. Edina emerged victorious over Maple Grove with a score of 3-1, while Andover defeated Cloquet-Esko-Carlton 4-1. In boys’ hockey, Hill-Murray advanced to the state tournament with a convincing 5-2 win over White Bear Lake.
On the wrestling mat, the state team tournament saw Anoka defeat Shakopee 38-33 in a closely contested match. Shakopee bounced back, however, to win against St. Michael-Albertville with a score of 34-29.
