Minnesota State University Defeats the Marauders in NSIC Tournament Quarterfinal


Maverick women’s basketball team dominated UMary with a 90-66 win in the NSIC Tournament Semifinal at the Sanford Pentagon. Junior guard Natalie Bremer led the team with 16 points, while Ava Stier and Rhyan Holmgren each scored 14 points. Elisabeth Gadient also played a key role with 10 points, five assists, and six steals. The Mavericks forced 31 turnovers in the game.

In the first half, Minnesota State outscored UMary in the paint and forced 19 turnovers to take a 20-point lead at halftime. The team maintained its lead in the second half with strong defense and balanced scoring.

The Mavericks will advance to the semifinal round of the NSIC Tournament to face Southwest Minnesota State on March 3 at 1:30 p.m. This will be their second matchup this season, with Minnesota State previously defeating the Mustangs 101-83.
