Fourteen wrestlers from southeast Minnesota have advanced to the MSHSL state wrestling individual tournament finals after an impressive showing in the semifinals. Chatfield led the area with six semifinalists, two of whom will compete in the finals. Kenyon-Wanamingo also has two wrestlers going for a state title. In Class 2A, three wrestlers from the area will be competing for a state title. Additionally, female grapplers had a successful day with several finalists, including Triton seventh-grader Adriana Kunz. The finals are set to begin around 5:30-6 p.m. with the final session starting earlier at 4 p.m. Lastly, there was controversy in one match where an illegal slam was ruled, impacting the outcome.
