Minnesota Twins pitchers and catchers have reported to Fort Myers for Spring Training, with closer Jhoan Duran making some changes to his offseason routine in hopes of returning to top form. Duran, who is down 12 pounds entering camp, is already throwing near-triple digits on radar guns, aiming to regain the velocity he had in 2023 when he was hitting 104 mph.
Duran suffered an oblique injury last season, which kept him off the Opening Day roster and impacted his performance throughout the year. Despite finishing with a 3.64 ERA and converting 23-of-25 save opportunities, Duran is looking to be the dominant force he was in the Twins bullpen.
With Duran and Griffin Jax forming a potentially strong duo in the bullpen, the Twins are projected to have one of the best bullpens in baseball this year. Manager Rocco Baldelli is hopeful that Duran’s offseason changes will pay off, allowing him and Jax to stifle opposing teams on a near-nightly basis.
