Author Cathy Mounce from Tyler has recently released her debut children’s book, ‘Pancake, the Texas Cat,’ a true story about her beloved pet that she has had for 30 years. The story follows Pancake, a small grey kitten with Western style and cattitude, as she navigates life in Texas while teaching a valuable lesson about being true to oneself. The 36-page paperback is meant for children ages 2 to 10 and is available on Amazon for $15.95 or as a Kindle e-Book for $9.99.
Mounce draws inspiration from her Texas roots and upbringing by two schoolteacher parents who nurtured her creativity. She has a background in writing, photography, and illustration, all of which have contributed to her ability to share stories and add beauty to the world around her.
Mounce will be hosting a book signing event on December 12 at the Rose City Art Gallery in Tyler, where guests will have the opportunity to meet her in person. As a resident of Tyler for the past eight years, Mounce continues to engage with her community through her creative endeavors.
Through ‘Pancake, the Texas Cat,’ Mounce hopes to bring joy and inspiration to young readers, encouraging them to embrace their unique qualities and make a positive impact on others. Her heartfelt tale, combined with charming illustrations, is sure to captivate both children and adults alike.
