A Connecticut couple, Jadion Richards and Akwele Lawes-Richards, have been accused of stealing nearly $1 million worth of items from Lululemon stores across the country. They were arrested at a Lululemon store in Woodbury, Minnesota and charged with organized retail theft. The couple allegedly stole items by attaching security sensors from small purchases to larger items they then stole. They would then exchange the stolen items at other stores in different states without receipts. After their arrest, a search warrant was obtained for a room the couple had rented at a J.W. Marriott in Bloomington, Minnesota where around $50,000 worth of Lululemon clothing was found in suitcases. Richards and Lawes-Richards were both booked into the Ramsey County Jail and have been released on bail. They are required to do weekly check-ins as part of their release. Their next court date is scheduled for December 16th. Attorneys for the couple have not yet commented on the case.
