Members of the Exira Study Club and Audubon Federated Women’s Club recently attended the 2024 GFWC/Iowa Southwest District Convention in Adel. The convention, held on Saturday, Oct. 19, featured a speech from Kacey Barrow-Meiner of the Crisis Invention Center in Adel. District and State Officers, as well as special activities chairmen, provided updates on the various program areas at district, state, national, and international levels within the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. The event also included a business meeting and a Memorial Service to remember those who have passed.

Among the attendees were Doris Christensen and Marcia Hanson from the Audubon Federated Women’s Club, as well as Jeanne Schwab, Patty Moser, Penny Beaman, and Evelyn Petersen from the Exira Study Club.

The convention provided club members with the opportunity to network, learn about new initiatives within the organization, and pay tribute to those who have contributed to the club in the past.

Both clubs have a long history of community involvement and support for various causes. The convention served as a way for members to come together, exchange ideas, and further their commitment to making a positive impact in their communities.

Overall, the event was a success and left members feeling inspired and motivated to continue their important work within the General Federation of Women’s Clubs.
