Athletics at the University of Minnesota


University of Minnesota Athletics is proud to announce that two student-athletes, Nicholas Brosmer and Ellen Perich, have been honored by the Big Ten conference for their outstanding performances. Brosmer, a member of the men’s track and field team, and Perich, a member of the women’s cross country team, have been recognized for their hard work and dedication to their respective sports.

Nicholas Brosmer, a sophomore from Wayzata, Minnesota, was named the Big Ten Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after posting impressive times in the 800 and 1500-meter races at the Wisconsin Nuttycombe Invitational. Brosmer’s performances helped lead the Gophers to a successful meet and showcased his talent and potential as a standout athlete in the conference.

Ellen Perich, a junior from Hayward, Wisconsin, was named the Big Ten Women’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week after finishing as the top Gopher runner at the Nuttycombe Invitational. Perich’s strong performance in a competitive field of runners earned her recognition as one of the top athletes in the conference.

Both Brosmer and Perich exemplify the dedication and hard work that student-athletes at the University of Minnesota strive for. Their achievements not only reflect their individual talent and skill, but also highlight the excellence of the university’s athletic programs.
