Voters turned off by election denial and Roe v. Wade reversal, but intrigued by new economic plans

According to a recent NBC News poll, voters are less likely to support candidates who deny that former President Donald Trump won the 2020 election or who endorse the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade. Voters are more inclined to back candidates who are focused on addressing high costs. The survey highlighted key issues such as the economy, inflation, abortion, immigration, and democracy.

The poll indicates that voters from various political backgrounds are more likely to support candidates who propose policies to address high costs, such as expanding domestic oil and natural gas production, implementing a federal child tax credit, and taxing large corporations making record profits. However, the survey also revealed that implementing tariffs as high as 20% on goods from all countries was not popular among voters.

Furthermore, denial of the election results by claiming that Trump won was the least popular position tested in the survey. The majority of voters are unlikely to support candidates who take this stance, except for Trump’s voter base.

On immigration, voters favor candidates who support deploying the military to the border to combat illegal drugs and human trafficking, as well as increasing deportations of undocumented immigrants. In terms of abortion, voters are more likely to support candidates who advocate for a federal law restoring nationwide access to abortion, while they are less likely to support candidates who endorse the Supreme Court’s decision overturning Roe v. Wade.

Overall, the poll reflects voter preferences for candidates who focus on addressing high costs, support measures to control inflation, and prioritize important issues such as the economy, immigration, and abortion.
