The Pentagon and Secret Service are concerned that providing more assets would violate federal law restricting the use of the military for domestic purposes. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin approved increased support for candidates in locations across the nation, overseen by U.S. Northern Command, which includes explosives experts, technicians, and capabilities to detect and protect against various threats. Overall, Trump is receiving the same level of protection as President Biden, so the campaign should not expect more.
