European Union countries advise their citizens to evacuate Lebanon as soon as possible

The European Union has issued a warning to airlines to avoid Israeli and Lebanese airspace for a period of one month, following increased tensions in the region. Several EU states, such as Spain, Portugal, and Italy, are advising their citizens in Lebanon to leave immediately, due to concerns over safety. The warning comes after Israel’s killing of Hezbollah’s leader in Lebanon, which has escalated the already volatile situation.

The European Commission and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency have recommended airlines to avoid flying over both Lebanon and Israel due to the deteriorating security situation. The recommendation is in effect until October 31st, with the EASA citing an overall intensification of air strikes as a reason for the warning.

In response to the heightened tensions, Lebanon’s transport ministry has instructed Beirut’s international airport to deny entry to Iranian aircraft. Israel had previously warned air traffic control that it would use force against any planes attempting to land in Lebanon.

The warning from the EU and the actions taken by Lebanon demonstrate the seriousness of the situation in the region. The safety of airline passengers and citizens in Lebanon is of utmost importance, with many countries urging their nationals to leave immediately. Airlines are advised to adhere to the recommendations and avoid flying over Israeli and Lebanese airspace until the situation stabilizes.
