Kamala Harris recently accused Donald Trump of killing a bipartisan border bill earlier this year for political gain, stating that he did not support the bill because he believed it would not help him politically. In a recent interview with CNN’s Dana Bash, Harris and her running mate Tim Walz discussed their plans for day one in office, including policies to support the middle class, increase access to affordable housing, and reduce the cost of everyday goods. Harris defended Biden and her support for him, stating that history will remember his presidency as transformative.
Harris also addressed her position on fracking, stating that she would not ban it as president, highlighting her belief in a “thriving clean energy economy” without a ban on fracking. She also discussed her work on the border and plans to address immigration crisis, emphasizing that she believes in following and enforcing laws. Harris also stated that she plans to name a Republican to her cabinet if elected.
Meanwhile, Donald Trump and Tulsi Gabbard, a former Democratic congressperson now a Trump campaign surrogate, discussed their support for reproductive rights at a town hall event in Wisconsin. Trump reiterated his support for IVF and claimed he would leave abortion laws to the states if elected. Despite these promises, Trump continues to face criticism for his stance on reproductive rights.
