Raveendran’s sentencing date is finally established

Former executive of Preferred Family Healthcare, Robin Raveendran, is set to be sentenced on October 8th for his involvement in a bribery scandal that brought down politicians in Arkansas and Missouri. Raveendran pleaded guilty in 2019 to conspiracy to commit bribery, specifically admitting to bribing former Arkansas state Sen. Jeremy Young Hutchinson to influence legislative actions in favor of Preferred Family Healthcare. Hutchinson is currently in prison appealing his sentence. Raveendran’s sentencing will follow that of former Arkansas state Rep. Eddie Wayne Cooper, who pleaded guilty in 2018 to embezzling over $4 million from the nonprofit organization. Cooper admitted to using the money for unlawful political contributions and personal benefit. The case highlights the extensive corruption that occurred within the organization and involved high-ranking officials in both states. The sentencing of Raveendran and Cooper marks a significant step towards holding individuals accountable for their roles in this scandal. Judge Brian C. Wimes will preside over Raveendran’s sentencing in U.S. District Court in Springfield, Missouri, bringing closure to a chapter in this widespread bribery scandal.
