Conway School Board Mourns the Loss of Member Bill Milburn
The Conway School District is mourning the loss of Bill Milburn, a valued member of the school board who passed away at the age of 72. Milburn had served on the board since March 2024, as well as during a previous term from October 2022 to May 2023. The district expressed their condolences to Milburn’s family, friends, and the entire community, remembering his dedication and contributions with deep appreciation.
Milburn’s passing was announced by the Conway’s First Church of the Nazarene, with his funeral planned for Sunday afternoon, Aug. 25 at the Nazarene Church in Greenbrier. Milburn, who represented Zone 5 on the board, was absent from a recent meeting due to health issues, with Board President Dr. David Naylor Jr. asking for prayers for his recovery.
Survived by his father, wife, and two children, Milburn’s commitment to public service was recognized by fellow board member Trey Geier, who acknowledged their differences but respected Milburn’s dedication to the Conway School District. With Milburn’s passing, the board will soon appoint an interim member, followed by an election for a full-time replacement.
The Conway School Board community is coming together to honor and remember the contributions of Bill Milburn, a dedicated member who will be greatly missed.
