Little Rock Board of Directors Candidates Announced for This Year’s Election

The upcoming Little Rock City Directors election will see four incumbents seeking reelection and three new candidates vying for seats on the board. Ward 4 Director Capi Peck, along with at-large directors Dean Kumpuris, Joan Adcock, and Antwan Phillips, have all filed the necessary paperwork to be on the ballot in November. New candidates Blake Tierney, Jordan Thomas, and Glen Schwarz have also filed to run.

Tierney is running for Joan Adcock’s at-large position, while Thomas is challenging Phillips. Schwarz is seeking an at-large position currently held by Kumpuris, though a 2021 Arkansas law may disqualify him due to his past felony conviction. Kumpuris is seeking his eighth term, while Peck is running unopposed for her third term in Ward 4.

The Little Rock Board of Directors is the governing and policy-making body for the city, consisting of the mayor, city directors representing wards, and at-large city directors. The board meets weekly to set agendas and make decisions for the city.

Voters in Little Rock will have the opportunity to vote for city board positions on Election Day, Nov. 5. This election will be crucial in determining the future direction and leadership of the city.
