Biden exits race, still a target for Trump rallies in Minnesota

Former President Donald Trump held a rally in Minnesota where he criticized President Joe Biden, despite him not being his 2024 opponent. Trump mocked Biden’s golf game, cognitive ability, and performance at events. He also attacked Hunter Biden and called Biden names. Trump ridiculed how Biden walked, suggesting he may not be able to exit an event. He also targeted Vice President Kamala Harris, calling her a “radical left lunatic” and criticizing her record on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Before Trump took the stage, his running mate, Sen. JD Vance, also spoke out against Harris, calling her “whacky” and “out-of-touch.” The Harris campaign responded by calling Trump a “bitter, unhinged, 78-year-old convicted felon.” They criticized Trump’s focus on his former opponent and golfing, questioning if he remembered who his opponent was.

A New York Times/Siena poll showed Trump and Harris in a close race, with 48% of likely voters preferring Trump and 47% choosing Harris. The results are within the poll’s margin of error. Overall, Trump’s rally focused on attacking Biden and Harris, portraying Harris as a continuation of Biden’s policies and criticizing both for various issues.

Despite facing an assassination attempt and acknowledging potential changes in him, Trump stated he hasn’t changed and even feels more angry at what he perceives as incompetence in the country. The rally showed Trump’s continued focus on attacking political opponents and rallying his base against the current administration.
