Cadyn Clark Haddox, 18, tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle wreck on Arkansas 35 near the Drew-Cleveland County line on July 26, 2024. The incident occurred around 4:25 a.m. when Haddox, driving a 2007 Lexus LSL north on the highway in Drew County, attempted to navigate a right-hand curve but lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road, collided with a tree, and overturned onto its top. Unfortunately, Haddox succumbed to his injuries at UAMS, while his passenger, Kasey James Stewart, 18, was injured and taken to Drew Memorial Hospital.
The road was wet due to rain at the time of the accident, which likely contributed to the loss of control. Trooper James R. Reed conducted the investigation on behalf of the Arkansas State Police. It is important to note that preliminary reports from the Arkansas State Police may contain inaccuracies, such as spelling errors, incorrect ages, and outdated information. These errors are typically corrected in updated reports.
The community of Monticello is mourning the loss of Cadyn Clark Haddox, a young life taken too soon in a tragic accident. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time. As the investigation continues, it serves as a reminder of the importance of safe driving practices, especially in adverse weather conditions.
