Conference in San Antonio to focus on transportation and technology industries for three days

Texas transportation and technology leaders will convene in San Antonio for the 2024 Texas Innovation Invitational, a conference focused on addressing transportation challenges and presenting innovative solutions. The event, taking place from July 29 to 31, will feature discussions on safety, connectivity, and traffic operations, with a special emphasis on the link between transportation and the Texas economy.

The conference will kick off with a tech showcase featuring exhibitors from both the public and private sectors, including the Southwest Research Institute, Port San Antonio, and UTSA’s Scooter Lab. Day two will feature speakers such as former U.S. Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Henry Cisneros and San Antonio City Councilwoman Adriana Rocha Garcia, who will discuss the economic impact of transportation projects.

During the final day, regional teams will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas for addressing transportation challenges, with expert judges providing feedback. Three winners will be selected to receive an award and the chance to submit their projects for consideration for grant funds from the Texas Department of Transportation and the Federal Highway Administration State Transportation Incentive Council.

The funds will help with the implementation of the winning projects, furthering innovation and progress in the transportation sector. The conference promises to be a valuable opportunity for networking, collaboration, and the advancement of cutting-edge transportation technologies.
