Festival lineup, parking options, and directions

Thousands of people are expected to celebrate at the Rochester Pride parade today, which will have a new route along South Avenue due to the increased turnout from last year’s festival. The event will feature a vibrant musical and drag lineup, vendors, and parking restrictions to note. The parade will start at 11 a.m. at South Avenue and Science Parkway, leading to Beikirch Park in Highland Park for a festival filled with games, food trucks, and live music until 6 p.m.

Headlining the musical performances will be Nina Sky, known for their hit track “Move Ya Body,” along with DJ Citizen Jane, Ethan Soza, and other talented artists. Drag performances from RuPaul’s Drag Race alumni and Miss and Mr. Gay Pride Rochester will also dazzle the stage.

As part of the Pride Galaxy theme, attendees are encouraged to wear space-themed accessories and galaxy-print outfits. Paid parking will be available at the Al Sigl Center and the grass lot nearby, while free parking for individuals with disabilities will be offered at the Lilac Adventure Zone. A shuttle will run between Highland Avenue and Science Parkway for attendees’ convenience.

Rochester Pride has a rich history dating back to the 1970s, with the Pride Picnic marking the beginning of Pride Week in the city. The first Pride Parade took place in 1989, eventually moving to Park Avenue in 1991 where it was held annually until this year. The accompanying Pride Festival has been hosted in various locations, now finding its home at Highland Park for the past few years.
