Minnesota finally masters Liberty in fifth consecutive victory

The New York Liberty secured a 76-67 victory over the Minnesota Lynx on Tuesday night at Barclays Center. This win marked their fifth consecutive victory, the longest active winning streak in the WNBA. The Liberty’s strong performance was highlighted by a shutdown fourth quarter where they held the Lynx to just 3-of-14 shooting from the field.

Jonquel Jones led the way for the Liberty with a 21-point, 12-rebound double-double. Her stellar performance earned her a spot on the WNBA squad at the upcoming All-Star Game in Phoenix. Breanna Stewart and Sabrina Ionescu also had impressive showings, with Stewart scoring 17 points and grabbing 17 rebounds, while Ionescu contributed 17 points, five assists, and five rebounds despite battling an illness.

The Liberty’s victory was especially sweet as they had previously fallen to the Lynx twice in three prior meetings, including last week’s Commissioner’s Cup Final. With this win, the Liberty improve their record to 17-3 and continue to make a strong case as championship contenders.

The team will look to extend their winning streak when they face the Indiana Fever on Saturday afternoon. Fans can stay updated with the latest news, exclusive interviews, and more by following All Knicks.
