Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese join forces to compete against the Olympic squad in WNBA All-Star game

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese have been chosen to team up on the WNBA All-Star team to play against the U.S. Olympic team led by A’ja Wilson and Breanna Stewart in the 20th All-Star Game in Phoenix on July 20. Clark was the leading vote-getter from the fans, while Reese was fifth. They are both playing well on the court, with Clark third in assists and Reese leading in rebounds. This is only the eighth time that two rookies have been on the team. Joining them on the WNBA team are other standout players such as DeWanna Bonner and Brionna Jones.

The U.S. team features players like Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi who will be vying for their eighth consecutive Olympic gold medal in Paris. Three of A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas teammates are also on the U.S. team, along with other returners from the Tokyo Games and first-time Olympians. The exhibition game will also feature a 3-point challenge and a skill contest the night before the All-Star game.

In addition, every player chosen for either the U.S. team or the WNBA squad is considered an All-Star, with Taurasi making her 11th appearance in the game. This puts her in second place behind Sue Bird for most appearances all time. The event promises to be an exciting matchup between some of the best players in the league and the Olympic team.
