The Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority has successfully implemented innovative technology to remove PFAS, forever chemicals, from its drinking water. Partnering with TruClear Water Solutions Inc., BCWSA piloted an Advanced Molecular Oxidation system which achieved over 90 percent reduction in PFAS levels. BCWSA is seeking approval from the PA DEP to permanently utilize the technology, making them the first water utility in the world to do so. John Cordisco, BCWSA board chairman, stated their commitment to eliminating harmful chemicals from drinking water for residents of Bucks County, setting an example for communities globally. TruClear Solutions, the company behind the technology, aims to provide a ‘green solution’ for water treatment without chemicals or heat. The successful pilot at BCWSA’s Solebury and New Hope water systems has shown promising results that have led to confidence in the system’s reliability and effectiveness. The PA DEP has strict regulations for PFAS levels in drinking water, with BCWSA leading the way in implementing solutions to meet these requirements. The authority urges other water systems in Pennsylvania to monitor their progress and looks forward to setting the standard for the industry.
