Governor Brian Kemp travels to South Korea for his sixth international visit

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp is currently on his sixth overseas trip as governor, traveling to South Korea for roughly 10 days. The Republican governor is focusing on meeting with South Korean businesses that operate in Georgia as well as potential new businesses looking to set up operations in the state.

The delegation accompanying Kemp includes lawmakers and state economic recruiters who will host a reception in collaboration with Hyundai Motor Group. However, there are no scheduled meetings with political or cultural leaders during this trip. Meetings are planned with LG Group, SK Group, Hanwha Qcells, and CJ Foodville, all of which have significant business interests in Georgia.

During his previous travels, Kemp has met with key officials and business leaders, resulting in the announcement of new facilities and partnerships in Georgia. The cost to taxpayers for this trip has not been disclosed.

Kemp’s visit to South Korea follows previous trips to Germany, Israel, the nation of Georgia, France, and attendance at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. These trips highlight Georgia’s commitment to fostering international partnerships and attracting foreign investment to the state.
